About CITD Hyderabad

Established in 1968 with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD) in Hyderabad is a premier autonomous institute under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. Located in Balanagar, Telangana, CITD specializes in Tool Engineering and Technology, offering advanced programs to meet the evolving needs of the manufacturing and design sectors.

CITD is actively engaged in research & development, and skill enhancement through a wide range of short-term programs, including NSQF, Non-NSQF, and NSQF-Exempted courses. The institute offers specialized training in Tool Design and Manufacturing, CNC, CAD/CAM/CAE technologies, Low-Cost Automation, Industry 4.0, Mechatronics, VLSI, Embedded Systems, PCB Manufacturing, and Additive Manufacturing. By collaborating with industries and academic institutions, CITD fosters innovation and delivers practical solutions to meet the evolving needs of the manufacturing sector.

CITD Hyderabad boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, modern computer centers, comprehensive libraries, hostel facilities, and recreational amenities, creating an environment conducive to learning, research, and overall student development. With a strong global outreach, CITD extends training and consultancy services to developing countries, imparting knowledge in Tool Design, CAD/CAM, and Low-Cost Automation Techniques. CITD offers a wide range of academic programs, including Diploma courses in Tool, Die & Mould Making, Automation & Robotics, and Production Engineering for students after 10th grade. Post Diploma programs in Tool Design and M.E. programs in Tool Design and Mechatronics are also offered for graduates in engineering disciplines. Admission to these programs is based on entrance examinations conducted by the institute.
